A fixed brace is an orthodontic appliance which cannot be removed from the mouth by the patient and is one of the most effective ways of straightening the teeth. Fixed braces are commonly known as “train tracks” and consists of brackets that are glued to the teeth and connected by flexible archwires. Brackets can be metal or tooth coloured.
In some cases small elastic bands may be needed to help with tooth movement. In other cases brackets are self-ligating.
If you have a fixed appliance, you must wear a gum shield during contact sports.

Damon braces
The Damon System is a whole new way of treating patients. It has been designed to deliver faster treatment, fewer appointments, greater comfort and consistent high-quality results. Braces are much smaller than they were just a few years ago and new materials are now used that make them very discreet.
Damon brackets can be clear, metal or semi-aesthetic.
